Déjà vu. I think I’ve seen this cat before. Walking through the same corridor that leads to the lab every morning has me thinking that my days are part of an endless loop. At least, having my camera with me allows me to break from the SSDD cycle I’m on, albeit briefly.
Juxtaposition. Photography has taught me to slow my pace when I walk, to look up, and to look down. There are details and scenes that reveal themselves to you only when you make a deliberate attempt to look at things from a different perspective.
Tasting with the Eyes. I cook, while Susan bakes. We’re both mostly self-taught. When it comes to styling food, I wouldn’t have the faintest idea; but I do know my lighting. I know that one brings out the texture of a surface (almond-laden brownies in this case) by raking light across it, and in so doing you allow the eyes to partake as well.
*For this photo-a-day project, I will be posting thrice a week. Photos shot from Monday to Wednesday will be posted on Thursday, photos from Thursday to Saturday will be up by Sunday, and my selection from Sunday will be posted on a Monday.
