The Division. Monsoon rains have been plaguing most afternoons lately. It’s especially unfortunate when there’s a torrential downpour right before people get off work. It then becomes a choice between getting soaked while navigating flooded streets to catch that elusive ride home or staying dry but reaching home late at night.
Specters. Our lives, in the context of the existence of the universe, are but blips. I realize that it’s not about how brilliant or long a trail that we leave when we pass, but how much of that light we shine to push back the darkness around us.
Colors and Tones. I’m glad to be making prints again after a long while. Nearly forgot, how involved a process it was. It’s not enough to know what type of paper would work best for a particular picture, but to also consider whether that paper will have a cool, neutral, or warm tone. The same blue sky, shot within hours of each other, is rendered quite differently on cool matte (left) and warm matte (right) papers.
*For this photo-a-day project, I will be posting thrice a week. Photos shot from Monday to Wednesday will be posted on Thursday, photos from Thursday to Saturday will be up by Sunday, and my selection from Sunday will be posted on a Monday.
