I have signed up for Blogging U.’s Photography 101 course, which requires all participants to post a photo a day from November 3 to November 28. A theme is assigned daily, which one then interprets, shoots and posts all within a 24-hour timeframe. I’m not quite sure if I’ll be able to see this through as the second semester starts in a few days, but I believe it will be a fulfilling challenge to take on.
Today’s assignment is to shoot a picture that captures the theme connect.
Born before the internet became as ubiquitous as it is today, I could still recall when the term social network would refer to the group of kids that would meet every afternoon for playtime at the park. Nowadays, people still do gather, but it is often sadly due to the lure of a free Wi-fi connection. Technology, I believe, should enhance the relationships that we’ve built over the years, and not replace them with the sterile glow of a computer screen.
Where it is a sad state to know where our interactions with each other is heading, I would like to hope that at some point we can collectively look up from our gadgets; and connect with the person in front of us.
