The premise for this series of posts is discussed here. I would just like to reiterate that the shorter format was adopted to encourage discussion in the comments and that the text boxes describing the settings for each flash are placed strategically to approximate their position in the frame.

Great photo!

When I look at the background, I can’t help but remember those photos taken with long exposures for that dreamy water effect. Did you consider recreating that effect or would the exposure just be too long for the subject to sit still?

Thanks, Jon.

I did consider a long exposure to get some motion blur on the water but parts of the background were already blown out and losing detail (had to bring back some of it in post), so I would’ve needed an ND filter to pull it off. But it’s definitely one of the shots on my list.
